MUC-1 (CA 15-3)
MUC-1 (CA 15-3) Antigen is observed in the serum of metastatic breast cancer as compared to benign breast disease patients or healthy individuals. Levels increased to lesser extent are detected in the serum of some patients with other malignancies such as prostatic cancer and ovarian cancer. The determination of MUC-1 gene associated antigen (CA 15-3) is intended to be used as an aid in monitoring of breast cancers.
