MUC-1 (CA 15-3)
MUC-1 (CA 15-3) Antigen is observed in the serum of metastatic breast cancer as compared to benign breast disease patients or healthy individuals. Levels increased to lesser extent are detected in the serum of some patients with other malignancies such as prostatic cancer and ovarian cancer. MUC-1 antigen assay may be of significant benefit in determining a patient’s course of disease, or response to surgery or other therapies.
