CA 125 Antigen

CA 125 Antigen is a heterogonous glycoprotein. It can be detected in ovarian cancer. Moderately elevated values may be detected in patiens with other malignancies (e.g. cancer of pancreas, breast, lung, stomach or colon) or in non-malign conditions such as inflammation of serous membranes, ovarian cysts, cirrhosis or endometriosis. The determination of CA 125 antigen can be used as an aid in diagnosis and monitoring of epithelial ovarian cancer.
