Anti-Insulin

Three major antigens of Langerhans’ islets of pancreatic β-cells are glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD), insulinoma-associated protein 2 (IA-2) and insulin. The determination of circulating autoantibodies against these structures are used for specific classification in diabetes mellitus  type I and LADA, as well as for diabetes prediction in first grade relatives of diabetic mellitus type I patients. Prevalence of Anti-insilin in DM type I patients is 30-50%, in children around 70 %.
