Inhibins are polypeptides belonging to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily which also includes TGF-β, activins and AMH (Anti-Müllerian hormone). All members of this family play a role in the growth and differentiation of tissues.Inhibin B is produced in the Sertoli cells of the testis in the male, and in the granulosa cells of the ovary in the female. The determination of Inhibin B can be used as an aid in diagnosis and monitoring of granulosa cell cancer in women; in males for evaluation of fertility status and as aid in diagnosis of anorchia.
We offer two different versions of this assay, Ref. A81303 (IVD version) and Ref. A81301 (RUO version).
