hCG

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) belongs to the glycoprotein hormone family and is composed of two non-covalently associated subunits a and b. In urine, b-core fragment is also found. The determination of hCG can be used as an aid in diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of Gestational trophoblastic disease and as an aid in diagnosis and monitoring of ovarian germ cell tumors in women; as an aid in diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of testicular germ cell tumors in men.
