Inhibin A

Inhibins are polypeptides belonging to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily which also includes TGF-β, activins and AMH (Anti-Müllerian hormone). All members of this family play a role in the growth and differentiation of tissues. Inhibin A determination is useful particularly in prenatal screening of chromosomal malformancies in second trimester of pregnancy.
