    Ostase assay enables measurement of serum skeletal alkaline phosphatase (ALP). Serum levels reflect the metabolic status of osteoblasts. An accurate assessment of bone metabolism is critical for determining the severity of metabolic bone disease and responses to therapy. The determination can be used as the aid in management of postmenopausal osteoporosis and Paget's disease.
