  • DHEA Sulfate

Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-SO4) is an androgen synthesized and secreted primarily by the adrenal gland. There is no circadian rhythm because of its long half-life and its high concentration in the blood. DHEA-SO4 is an excellent indicator of adrenal androgenic secretion and its determination can be used as an aid in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of adrenocortical diseases, such as Cushing's syndrome, congenital adrenal hyperplasia or adrenal tumors.
