Thyroglobulin

Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a glycoprotein, synthetized by the thyroid follicular cell. Tg concentration in blood plasma reflects thyroid secretory status. Abnormal levels of Tg are found in all forms of hyperthyroidism, autoimmune chronic thyroiditis, thyroid atrophy, and in progressive thyroid cancer.
