neo IRT

Immunoreactive trypsinogen (IRT) is a protein synthetized by pancreas. The IRT levels in blood may be increased in newborns it they are stressed, e.g. due to premature or stressfull delivery. The IRT is increased also in people with cystic fibrosis. This assay is intended for neonatal screening of cystic fibrosis, using dry blood spot samples.
